TOUR OF TURKEY: PODIUM AND SHOW IN THE QUEEN STAGE

What a day for the team Wilier Triestina – Selle Italia that has literally stolen the show in the 4th stage of the Tour of Turkey that was ending with an uphill finish in Selcuk.

Alberto Cecchin joined the daily breakaway and, after being brought back in the peloton, was involved as all his team mates in an acceleration before the second last KOM of the day provoquing a big selection in the bunch.

On the last climb of the day Martinez and Godoy were safely in the head of the race till the last km where both of them were trying to anticipate the sprint that was won by Diego Ulissi.

Martinez, 3rd, achieves with only 21 years old his first podium in a World Tour race and the general classification smiles to our two young southamerican climber that sit now in 4th and 5th place before the 5th stage that is gonna bring the group till Izmir after passing a very hard KOM with 30 kms to go.

Daniel Martinez “On the penultimate KOM i wasn’t feeling very well and I thought I couldn’t be competitive. My sensations changed at the bottom of the final climb where I was feeling great but Ulissi was definitely the best. I’m very happy of the end of my season”
