GIRO D’ITALIA: DANIEL MARTINEZ IN A BREAKAWAY ON THE WAY TO OROPA

The dream of Daniel Felipe Martinez was broken at the bottom of the ascent to Santuario di Oropa in the 14th stage of the Giro d’Italia won by Tom Dumoulin.

More than 90 kms in the head of the race for the young colombian climber for a maximum gap of 3′ with the peloton who came back on the escapees with less than 20 kms to go.

Cristian Rodriguez confirmed to be the best of our climbers ending in 32nd place 2’31” behind the Maglia Rosa, a performance that let him sit in 25th place of the general classification.

Tomorrow from Valdengo to Bergamo 199 kms and a very tricky final part of the stage.
